Symptoms of Attention-Deficit

Six or more of the following symptoms of  inattention have persisted for at least 6 months.

Inattention:


Fails to give close attention, makes careless mistakes in schoolwork

Difficulty sustaining attention in task or play activities

Does not seem to listen when spoken to directly

Does not follow  instructions and fails to finish schoolwork

Difficulty organizing tasks and activities

Avoids and dislikes to engage in tasks that requires mental effort

Loses things that necessary for tasks (e .g ., pencils, books )

Easily distracted by extraneous stimuli

Forgetful in daily activities


  
2. Six or more of the following symptoms of the hyperactivity- impulsivity  have persisted for at least 6 months:

Hyperactivity : 

Fidgets with hands or feet 
Leaves seat in classroom or in other situations 
Runs or climbs excessively in situations in which it is inappropriate 
Difficulty playing or engaging in leisure activities quietly 
On the go or acts as if driven by a motor 
Often talks excessively 

Impulsivity :   

Blurts out answers before questions have been completed. Difficulty a waiting turn. Interrupts on others (conversations or games). Some hyperactive-impulsive or inattentive symptoms were present before 7 years. Some symptoms is present in two or more settings (at school and at home. There must be clear evidence of clinically significant impairment in social, academic or occupational functioning. The symptoms do not occur exclusively during the course of a Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Schizophrenia, or other Psychotic Disorder (Mood Disorder, Anxiety Disorder or a Personality Disorder)

3. Selective Mutism

 
Failure to speak in specific social situations.
Interferes with educational or occupational achievement or with social communication.
The duration of the disturbance is at least 1 month  
Failure to speak is not due to a lack of knowledge  
It does not occur during the course of a Pervasive Developmental Disorder or Schizophrenia.
